The GW Elementary School welcomes the GOLDEN NOTEBOOK  who is our new book vendor for our Fall and Spring book fairs this school year.   This is a fundraiser, and 20% of all sales will be donated to the GW PTO for our activities and programs.  The children will be browsing the options during the school day and filling out a ‘wish list’ for their parents. We are open late so that parents are able to come in after school to purchase books.  Thursday, October 23rd is Parent/Teacher Conferences – so we are making sure to be available later to accommodate families who will be coming in that day.

Because the Golden Notebook provides staff, we don’t need many parent volunteers which is great! Below the book fair hours is a schedule of needs from volunteers. If you are able to help on any of the posted days, please contact Rebecca Martin-Grenadier at rebecca@gwlovesmontessori.org

As we generally do, the book fair will occur on the Auditorium Stage.  The dates and hours are as follows:

DATE CHANGE: The 4th Annual “Walk Around the Block” Walk-a-Thon Fundraiser takes place on THURSDAY, October 9th (and NOT the 8th), 2014 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.

We are gearing up for this year’s “Walk around the Block” event that is a part of the “Walk to School Day”, a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day.

Now in it’s fourth year, the GW Elementary School is turning it into a ‘Walk-a-thon” fundraiser for our school PTO. Call all of your aunts and uncles! Grandmothers and grandfathers!  Sponsor your child as they walk for their health…and GW projects on the horizon such as a natural playscape, 2014′s moving up ceremony, field trips and more.

The walk will take place from 2:00pm – 3:00pm. Parents interested in joining us will be asked to arrive and sign-out their child at 2:00pm – and so that they can leave for home when the walk is complete.

Sponsor forms for our ‘walk-a-thon’ were sent home with the children on THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 4th and must be returned to your child’s teacher by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3rd. If you didn’t receive yours, please visit the school’s main office for a copy.

About Monkey Joe’s Roasting Company:    At Monkey Joe Coffee Roasting Co. we specialize in roasting single-origin, specialty-grade coffees. This means that we purchase only the highest, specialty grade, green coffee beans available, from all over the world. Coffee roasting is done in small batches at the roast profile that will showcase each coffee’s most distinctive aroma and flavor. Just as wines differ, so do coffees, and the key to single origin coffee roasting is to bring out the best in each bean. This means that, unlike with blends, you will know what coffee you are drinking. So visit our coffee house today, located in Kingston in the heart of New York’s scenic Ulster County. As our slogan says, you can be confident that you will, “…taste no evil”.

Because the focus of our coffee roasting is on single-origin coffee beans, our selection of specialty-grade coffees is subject to change based upon availability and fluctuations in crop quality from year to year. You will always find that we offer a wide selection of coffee beans covering all growing regions and including certified Rainforest Alliance, Shade Grown, Fair Trade, and Sustainable, specialty coffees.

We also have a full-service coffee bar that offers expertly prepared coffee and espresso drinks, as well as fresh, locally-produced cakes and pastries—all served in the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of the most popular coffeehouse in Kingston.
