Four of the GW Elementary School’s 5th graders prepare to host weekly tours open to all.  The public is invited each Tuesday beginning on January 15th throughout the school year from 9:30am – 10:30am.

Kingston, NY – The GW Elementary School, a public Montessori program in the Historic city of Kingston, NY is gearing up for a weekly tour led by four enthusiastic 5th graders.

The young students volunteered to take on the task. “I’m proud to have this opportunity and to be given a chance to be a responsible leader,” said Angela Quezada. “What I look forward to most is to show the Children’s House downstairs. I love that part of our school.”

When asked what she was proud to share with the public next week, Nikemia Pinkard who enjoys math, singing and dancing said, “I am proud to introduce our teachers and other classrooms to visitors. I also want to show how the Montessori materials work in our school. I hope a lot of people will come.”

“What I am excited about is becoming a mentor for our younger students who will take over the tours when I leave for Middle School. I’ll be able to show them how to do this and that feels good” said Aniyah Moseley.  Vanesa Martinez hoped to share some of the schools art programs with guests. “I just love to dance.”

“The GW Elementary School Tours” will take place every Tuesday during the school year (with the exception of any holidays) from 9:30am – 10:30am and are open to the public. All guests are asked to meet outside of the main office 10 minutes prior to start time.  Guests will be met by a school professional to answer any questions after each tour.
