Thanks to GW Elementary School parent and ship captain Ann Loeding, the GW Elementary School children enjoyed an entire day down on the Rondout in Kingston.

Loeding, who was instrumental in recently helping to secure a $15,000 CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) for a Natural Playscape Project at the GW Elementary School also wrote a grant that allowed students of the Kingston School District to enjoy a full day field trip of the treasures in Kingston’s Rondout.

Students got to tour and take a ride on the John J. Harvey Fire Boat, tour the Maritime Museum, ride a trolley, visit the Trolley Museum of NY and enjoy a picnic at the Kingston Point Beach.

It was an excellent experience – and we hope it will be one that all of the children of Kingston will be able to participate in each year.

Thanks to Ann, the crew and the GW teachers for making it a great day.
