The GW Elementary School’s after school TOPS Writing class program that has about 18 students and led by GW Parent Amy Loewenhaar received a visit from Dan Barton, editor of the Kingston Times on Monday (2/12).

The students are currently working on creating their own newsletter for the school, and were treated to a local paper and a discussion on the importance of reporting the news in their community.

Exercises such as “Story budgeting” and creating topics ensued.
